bio

Paula Zammit's figurative work has been described as, "producing an aura of mysterious sensual femininity". She  likes to think of it as a conduit to celebrate a sophisticated sexuality lost in modern media.

Like a musician, who enjoys crossing over to different genres, Zammit also works in the ancient wax-based medium of encaustic. Here, she embraces the abstract, with organic forms dominating the work.

Zammit graduated with a BFA from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. She has exhibited nationally - most  recently with Heron Arts in San Francisco, CA and CASS Contemporary Gallery in Tampa, FL.

In 2014, she also was selected to complete a residency at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit.

Aside from a handful of years in St. Louis, she is a life-long Detroit, MI area resident and happy to be immersed in the rebuilding of the North Corktown neighborhood.
She is a member of Corktown Studios in Detroit along with 7 fellow artists.
